Description
Start your Dam Tour with complimentary Las Vegas hotel pick up in our air-conditioned minibus or coach. Listen to fun-filled facts about Las Vegas and the surrounding area from our professional comedian before stopping at the mighty Hoover Dam!
Enjoy our signature Walk On The Top tour. Spend approximately 1 hour walking across the top of the Hoover Dam before taking the Department of the Interior Discovery Tour (both tours included).
Discovery Tour includes:
Theater Level Displays - Murals, maps, photos & other displays provide an introduction to the Hoover Dam.
Theater One - "How the West was Won" is a presentation which describes the contribution of the Bureau of Reclamation in taming the rivers, helping to settle the West and growing the food that feeds the nation.
The Power Plant Generators - Take the large elevators 500 feet down into the walls of the Black Canyon to walk through a 250-foot long tunnel and view the 650-foot long Nevada wing of the power plant and its eight huge generators.
Penstock Viewing Platform - View one of the four huge 30-foot-diameter pipes that can transport nearly 90,000 gallons of water each second from Lake Mead to the hydroelectric generators in the powerhouse.
The Exhibit Gallery - These exhibits highlight some of the natural history of the region and present a picture of how the Hoover Dam was constructed and how it presently operates.
The Overlook - Enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Dam, Lake Mead & the Colorado River.
Next, travel to historic Boulder City! Enjoy a picture perfect view of Lake Mead before stopping at the oldest hotel in town, the Boulder Dam Hotel, a member of the "historic hotels of America" and voted #4 of the 10 most haunted hotels in America.
We treat you to lunch inside the dining room or on the terrace of this quaint hotel. With a recipe direct from Italy, the Penne Pasta with Tomatoes & Mushrooms is a crowd favorite, each portion is individually made, so if you are a tomato lover this is the dish for you (meal included).
Lunch lasts approximately 30 minutes after which everyone may stroll upstairs to the Hoover/Boulder Dam Museum. Take some time to view the interactive 3-D displays that tell the human story of one of history's greatest construction projects - Hoover Dam. Our tour guide not only was funny but was extremely knowledgeable about Hoover Dam and other subjects we never knew about. The lunch was the best food we had during our stay in Las Vegas. The group was a manageable size for this tour. The only negative was the late pickup time. If we were called and told of the vehicle problem, we wouldn't have been so worried if we missed the bus. Other than that, we enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Hoover Dam.

I am so glad we took this tour. It was interesting and fun! The tour guide was super and had super knowledge of the Hoover Dam. I would recommend this when you visit Las Vegas. I have gone to Vegas every year for the past 10 years. And I never wanted to visit places like the Hoover Dam. But I am glad we did the tour. All I can say it was well worth it. Had fun! P.S. the lunch was great also. Thanks for a great day.

What a unique experience! The tour guide was hilarious and well informed. She shared many insights one would probably miss, took the group across the dam, and took us to lunch at the Boulder City hotel. The other tours can keep the cheap buffet. This meal was fantastic.

We had a great time. Our guide was 1st rate and a real crack up. I wasn't surprised that she was funny but was surprised at her knowledge of the Dam. Our kids weren't real excited about going but she made the trip so enjoyable. We are still talking about the tour.
