Description

Leave Las Vegas behind and travel to the Hoover Dam in style and comfort aboard our custom SUVs. Your talented guide will share many points of interest along the way.

You’ll have plenty of time to explore this engineering wonder of the world. After you explore the top, it's time to head to the bottom! You will be transported to the Colorado River by van on the Lower Portal Road, where construction crews traveled each day. You'll see the original gauging station used to measure water level and flow and dynamite storage bunkers used during construction.

Then, a guided 45-minute Colorado River float tour by raft offers you close-up views few people have ever seen of Hoover Dam. Learn historical facts and get an astounding view of the Hoover Dam Bypass project and construction of the nearly 2,000-foot-long bridge spanning over 900 feet above the river before returning to Las Vegas.

This tour was fantastic! This was our first time in Las Vegas and we did not know much about the history. Our tour guides changed that -- by the time we left the tour, we learned quite a bit about the history of Las Vegas and the building of the Hoover Dam. We would definitely recommend this tour -- it was a unique way to tour the Hoover Dam. Thank you much for the great experience.

Our guide was absolutely fantastic, he filled us in with all the relevent informaton on route and what would happen on the tour. No question was any trouble. As we were in an SUV our party size was 6 pax. This way the tour itself was on a more personal level. Not all tours take in the bottom of the dam which is well worth seeing. The water is crystal clear with many varieties of fish. An explanation of how the foundations of the dam and the work that went into the preperations is given here. You can see how all the rough loose rocks were hand chipped away. You also see the old pump station which is on rails and shows you how the height of the river used to fluctuate before the dam was put in place. On the top of the dam we go to roughly the middle where there is a plaque denoting the two States that the dam goes through. (Nevada/Arizona). There is a clock on the water intake towers which in summer time both have the same time. We move inside and were shown a brief film on how the dam was constructed, then proceeded down the lift into the generator room approx 600 ft down. Quite a large room and very quiet with 6 turbines running while we were there. You get your picture taken and can buy as an option which is good value and a worthy souvenir. The drive out and back depending on traffic is approx, 35/45 mins. They carry chilled water onboard if the weather gets to hot you will not go thirsty. Well worth seeing and hopefully the bridge will be finished soon. That will be worth seeing as well. (2 for the price of 1).

My husband and I had the BEST time on our tour. Our driver was FANTASTIC! So informative, he knew so much about the Dam and the boat ride and when we got there the people on the Dam tour basically repeated what he had told us which was great! He should get a raise! We really did enjoy our time there and have recommended it already to others. We want to bring our daughters back to see the Dam and will definitely choose your company. Thank you so much for the opportunity that you give to others to tour such great sites in our country.

This was a great trip, the guides were really informative and the dam was amazing. We enjoyed the raft ride but just wished it could of taken us further down Lake Mead, instead of just around bottom of dam, although this was still interesting.

The guide was really good and the dam is definitely worth seeing. The trip was very rushed at the dam though - we didn't get a chance to see the exhibits or the observation deck due to the time pressure of getting to the raft on time. This was in part due to the film starting late and a delay in getting down to the turbines.
