Tickets & ConfirmationImmediately after submitting your reservation you will receive a receipt of booking by email. Description
A glider is an unpowered aircraft - an airplane without a motor. Gliders are amazing graceful machines and are about as close as humans can get to soaring like birds. Just imagine yourself gliding effortlessly, silently, peacefully high above the Nevada Desert, barely a sound to disturb you.
Without an engine, a glider's first challenge is getting off the ground and up to altitude. The most common launching method is an aero-tow. A conventional powered plane tows the glider up into the sky using a long rope.
The glider pilot controls a quick-release mechanism, located in the glider's nose and releases the rope at the desired altitude. Right after release, the glider and the tow plane turn in opposite directions and the glider begins its unpowered flight.
The key to staying in the air for long periods of time is to get some help from Mother Nature whenever possible. For 30 minutes glide through the sky. Ride the desert thermals - columns of rising air created by the heating of the Earth's surface.
The thermals keep these unique aircraft airborne (flight time may be extended if conditions permit). With no engines to disturb the silence - the only sound you'll hear is the WOOOOSH of the wind across the wings.

Please Note:
Avoid booking this tour on the last day of your stay. You may experience a flight delay if there is wind, rain or a heavy cloud base. If one passenger is over 200 lbs, we recommend booking our single passenger flights. If you are interested, click here.
Add-on flights, changes and reservations:
1. Double passenger flights, where individual weights are higher than reported shall be flown and billed as separate flights. Please Note: This is a safety issue. All aircraft have a maximum gross allowable gross weight.
2. Double passenger flights, where individual weights are as reported at the time of the reservation, but customers do not find it as comfortable as desired to fly together, shall be flown as separate flights at no extra charge.
3. Extra passengers, spectators and friends, not included in an original reservation, who also wish to take the transportation to and/or from the Jean Airport, shall be charged at the rate of $20.00 USD per passenger.

Friendly staff. Try going end of April/ beginning of May for warmer weather to catch better thermals. I would have loved to try the single passenger for the aerobatics.

I purchased this as a gift for my brother Bill and his wife, Bonnie. They reported to me that although the ad said the glider could accommodate two passengers, they were crowded and very uncomfortable. They said that they didn't time the ride but felt that it was nowhere near 30 minutes long. They were disappointed and I felt like I had given them a gift that was sorely wanting.
